![]() ![]() SHAMBURGER (2015): Aerial imagery from Google Earth shows trees continued to be blown down for several miles into rural southern Stewart County before the tornado lifted, and radar data also indicates the tornado continued into southern Stewart County. TEMA reported 10 homes had major damage, 2 mobile homes were destroyed and 20 mobile homes had major damage. STORM DATA (Houston County): Trees were down. About half of these homes were mobile homes. Fourteen homes were destroyed, and one other had major damage. Worst damage was from Big Sandy to Faxon to Grannys Branch. There were 20 power poles down on Danville Rd. Trees were uprooted and snapped, and homes were damaged along Highway 147 from the Tennessee River to just west-northwest of McKinnon. STORM DATA (Benton County): The tornado came out of northern Benton County and caused damage in Houston County. Official NCDC and Storm Data records do not include the portions of this tornado track in Hardin and Decatur Counties. ![]() The path length, time, and location of the tornado have been corrected based on radar data and the damage path on Google Earth aerial imagery. Crossing the Tennessee River back into Wayne County, the tornado continued to blow down hundreds of trees as it moved into southern Perry County before lifting around 2 miles northwest of the Flatwoods community. ![]() The tornado crossed the Tennessee River into extreme southeast Decatur County where it blew down dozens of trees. In addition, radar data and aerial imagery from Google Earth show that this EF1 tornado began in extreme northeast Hardin County then moved northeast, clipping far northwest Wayne County west of Clifton where several homes were damaged. SHAMBURGER (2015): NCDC and Storm Data incorrectly list the narrative from the second long-track tornado that moved across Perry, Lewis, and Hickman Counties as this tornado, which has been corrected in this entry.
